EcoCult Is Hiring!

We’re always on the hunt for passionate people who want to contribute to EcoCult’s mission to educate shoppers and professionals on the finer points of sustainable fashion. Check out our open positions below. These are all contract jobs, ranging from three to 15 hours a week.

Partnerships Director

EcoCult’s best-in-class and unbiased explainers are financially supported through sponsored brand partnerships and affiliate marketing. We’re looking for someone who can fully manage the monetization of the website and think creatively about partnerships with brands that are striving to make the world a better place.

This will require 10 to 15 hours per week. It pays a base hourly rate plus commission, based on experience. 

The Partnerships Director will:

  • Evaluate and manage all incoming emails and brand pitches.
  • Manage all affiliate relationships, new and ongoing.
  • Create and manage all sponsored brand partnerships throughout the course of the partnership, from initial pitch to final deliverables.
  • Evaluate and optimize new and existing articles for sponsored and affiliate revenue.
  • Provide a firewall between brand sponsorships and Ecocult’s editorial team. 
  • Projected hours are about 10-15 hours a week. Pay is hourly plus commission, and will be based on level of experience.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have 2-5 years’ proven track record in managing brand partnerships and affiliate marketing for a media company.
  • Have experience in and knowledge about the fashion or lifestyle sector.
  • Does not need to have worked in sustainability, but should have a healthy skepticism about marketing claims and an aversion to participating in greenwashing.
  • Know WordPress basics.
  • Be knowledgeable in SEO.
  • Have excellent emotional intelligence and online communication skills.
  • Speak English fluently.
  • Be any gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, size, ability, or age. However, applicants from groups that are underrepresented in fashion media and overrepresented in fashion production will get special consideration.

Contributing Writer

We’re looking for writers who are knowledgeable about sustainability and/or fashion, want to learn even more, then share that with the world!

This Content Creator will:

  • Work directly with and be edited by EcoCult’s founder, journalist Alden Wicker.
  • Pitch and brainstorm ideas alongside other contributing writers from around the world.
  • Write and post one well-researched article a month.
  • Source images for that article, use Canva to create Pinterest images, and put it all into WordPress.
  • Work with EcoCult’s Partnerships Director to write sponsored articles and update existing article with new brands.

This role starts at $200 per article and $25 per brand addition, with the possibility of raising the fee based on performance.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be an excellent writer, with at least two years of experience in writing
  • Speak English fluently (multilingual a plus).
  • Understand the concept of SEO.
  • Be curious, excited, and well-versed on the topic of sustainable and ethical fashion.
  • Be a savvy and critical fact-checker, and willing to go where the research leads them, even if it’s against the commonly-accepted wisdom.
  • Be able to cut through marketing speak to get at the core of whether a company/product is trustworthy.
  • Be familiar with WordPress.
  • Be any gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, size, ability, or age. However, voices from groups that are underrepresented in fashion media and overrepresented in fashion production will get special consideration.
