Review: Jefferson Lane Organic Cotton Sheets Are Affordable and Luxurious

It’s been two years since we moved into our apartment, and our two sheet sets were starting to look really shabby. We rent our apartment out on AirBnB when we take vacations, and I was embarrassed to leave them for the guests!

But I was holding out, because organic sheets can be really, really expensive. And I didn’t want to go to Bed Bath & Beyond for affordable sheets. This organic thing is non-negotiable.

Fortunately, a new luxury bedding company, Jefferson Lane, sent me a set of sheets to try, and they’re totally in line with what I wanted!

The sheets, pillowcases and duvets are made from 100% organic, long-staple cotton that is grown ethically in India. The bedding is made in a fair trade factory with eco-friendly dyes.

You can see the sheets in the picture above. I chose a cool grey set (“cloud grey”) that goes beautifully with my linen curtains. They have a thread count of 300, with a silky, light texture. We’ve used them over several weeks, plus washed them, and I’ve been really pleased with how they class up our bedroom. These are grownup sheets, guest bedroom sheets, master bedroom sheets. Your mama would be proud.

The packaging is 100% recycled as well. My sheets came in a simple cardboard box, wrapped in tissue paper, so I was able to recycle it all. So much nicer than those zip-up bags you get with normal bedding!

To keep the prices low – $150 to $165 for an organic sheet set – they sell exclusively online to cut out the markup that comes from selling in department stores. They also have a 45 day return policy, should you be unhappy with them. Oh, and you can get 15% off your order with the code ECOCULT.

Their care instructions are also eco-friendly! They recommend you wash your sheets in cold or lukewarm water, with an eco-friendly detergent, and line dry or tumble dry low, but remove while slightly damp to put on the bed. And no bleach!

I’m really happy with my new sheets and definitely recommend Jefferson Lane if you’re ready to upgrade to a grownup bed. Sleep tight!
