NU Evolution Cosmetics Is the Non-Toxic Makeup Brand That’s Ready for the Runway

Most non-toxic makeup brands tend to be on the subtle side. A little glimmer, taupes, brown eyeliner pencils and barely-there mascara. But while that might be enough for some ladies, sometimes you need a little oomph – some saturated color, professional-grade eyeliner and mascara, and full coverage foundation and powders.
Like when you’re putting on a fashion show.
The universe bestowed on me an email from NU Evolution Cosmetics, the one non-toxic brand that does NYFW-level, runway-ready makeup looks, right when I was pulling together my Eco Fashion Show with Peace Boat. I had heard of them, but as I read more, I realized they were a perfect match.
NU is by Nadine Cormier and Sandra Anderson-Diaz, who wanted to find alternatives to the propylene glycol (also known as antifreeze!), phthalates, parabens, sulfates and other harmful ingredients used in most mainstream beauty products. As busy professional women, they were also inspired to find products that were not only effective, but whose packaging reflects of a chic, high end style. They teamed up with an expert chemist to create the perfect formulas, with a color selection, innovative formulas and packaging that reflects their passion for high fashion, beauty and pop culture from around the world.
They were involved in four fashion shows this past New York Fashion Week – the real deal. And they generously offered to provide makeup artists and makeup for my humble eco-friendly fashion show, because they believed in what we were doing.
The resulting looks were gorgeous – glamorous, but not too over the top. I’m so grateful to Nadine and Sandra for being involved with the show. They’ve won me over with their sense of humor, professionalism, and most of all, quality beauty product!
