Learn about seasonal produce and urban farming. The night will start off with a walking tour of the Farm, that will be led by the team at Brooklyn Grange. They will share their knowledge of what is growing, and what you’ll be eating. You’ll then prepare a raw foods meal together with other attendees with vegetables straight from the Farm. The menu will consist of a shiso, avocado & citrus salad, over arugula accompanied with a summer grain salad featuring mint, radishes, and pea shoots. Refreshments will be handed out for the farm tour, and served with dinner. After the meal, enjoy a refreshing sorrel popsicle as you watch the sun set over the city.

She’ll cover all the benefits, challenges, and options available for those rooftop oases and share Brooklyn Grange’s experience greenroofing our city.  From the classroom, you’ll head up to the farm to see their green roof in person and talk about the materials they’ve used in our space. By the end of this workshop you’ll have a sense of what it takes to green roof a space, large or small!
