It’s not every blogger who gets two delicious cocktails made just for her, so I feel pretty special. (OK, fine, it comes with paying for an open bar. But still.)

I wanted the bartenders at The Counting Room to whip up something special for the party, using pure, natural ingredients while piquing everyone’s interest. These two cocktails invented by Matt Friedlander will satisfy different moods and tastes: The Don’t Resist is dry and mellow, and the Cult Cool-Aid is sweet and tart. Here’s how to make them:

The Don’t Resist

3/4 oz Cucumber Praire Organic Vodka

3/4 oz Cocchi Americano

3/4 oz lemon


Combine vodka, cocchi and lemon. Shake well, and top with prosecco.

The Cult Cool-Aid

1 strawberry

2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka

3/4 oz lemon juice

3/4 oz simple syrup

dash Regan’s Orange Bitters


Muddle strawberry at the bottom of the glass. Fill glass with an inch of soda. Separately, mix vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and orange bitters, then add to glass.
