Green Beauty Review: Love Goodly’s Subscription Box Banished My Beauty Blahs

I’ve been underwhelmed by beauty boxes in the past, but when Love Goodly offered to send me a box of curated beauty, lifestyle, and wellness products by ethical and sustainable brands, I jumped at the chance. Over the holidays, I sampled the December/January box curated by actress Emily Deschanel, and I have to say, I was impressed.

Love Goodly’s mission is to provide bi-monthly subscription boxes filled with wonderful, full-size products that are natural, sustainable, vegan, cruelty-free, and organic. In addition, each box supports a specific organization doing great work. A portion of the proceeds from the December/January box was donated to Farm Sanctuary, which protects farm animals from cruelty and promotes vegan living.

My specific order contained four beauty products, plus a snack-size bag of non-GMO popcorn by BOOMCHICKAPOP. While I wasn’t familiar with this snack brand, my kindergartener recognized it immediately and let out a squeal of delight. The popcorn was light and delicious, and since it contains all natural ingredients, I was happy to share it with my children.

Love Goodly also sent me Custom Facial Steam by Mullein and Sparrow, one of my most favorite natural brands. It’s a lovely combination of flowers and herbs that gently steams your face when added to hot water. MyChelle’s Perfect C Serum, which contains 17% L-Ascorbic Acid, was included in my box, and is a gentle and effective serum that contains anti-aging ingredients.

My two favorite products in Love Goodly’s box were Pacifica’s Enlightened Lip Gloss in Nudist and Côte’s Nail Polish No. 49. The lip gloss is gorgeous and moisturizing, and I’ve reached for it daily during these colder months. It adds a touch of nude sheen without any stickiness, and the doe foot applicator makes it perfect for touching up, too. Côte’s Nail Polish No. 49 is also a beautiful nude shade, and I’ve used it to give myself a natural looking winter pedicure.

Both the lip gloss and the nail polish are beauty items I would like to purchase once I run out. Luckily, Love Goodly stocks many of their box items in full sizes on their site. This way, you can try out a new product, find a favorite, and continue to purchase it while supporting brands and organizations that give back.

In Summary

I recommend Love Goodly’s subscription box – it’s a fun and affordable way to try natural brands, and their mission is worth supporting, too.
