Clean beauty travel-sized non-toxic toiletries

I’m a proud ambassador for the clean beauty store Follain, which offers many of the brands in my travel kit! Enjoy 10% off your purchase through March 31 using the code FOLLAINFRIENDS.

My travel bag used to suffer from Free Shit Syndrome. Everything in there, save for my razor, was something random that had been given to me for free. After all, I didn’t want to waste it, and sample-sized also happens to be travel-sized! (Less than 3 ounces, in case you need reminding.)

But over the past year, I’ve been pretty pitiless about refusing free samples and gift bags. So I’ve used up all those free samples and now I’m down to using beauty products – even when I travel – that I truly love, that nurture my skin, and that make me feel just as beautiful when I’m in a foreign city as when I’m seated at the vanity in my bedroom.

You can tell that I’m being truthful because some of my tools are pretty beat up, by the way (see below). I also didn’t include shower items (just mini squeeze bottles of my normal stuff), brush, or hair accessories (not exciting – from the drugstore). I just wanted to share the interesting stuff, which is the beauty products, bien sur.

Here’s what I put in my beauty travel kit (from top left):

Reusable cotton pads (a.k.a. old cut-up t-shirt): For taking off my eye makeup

Ecobrow defining wax

Alima precision angle brush (They’ve since redesigned it to be sleek and black. Ecobrow also does a defining brush.)

Ayelli organic argan oil: For my moisturizing my hair and face

Tweezerman tweezers: Really, the best kind

Coconut oil: For taking off my eyemakeup, plus moisturizing my body if it needs it.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer: For highlighting my cheekbones

RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer

Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation*: I use this at home, too. Really evens out my skintone without giving me a mask.

Ilia lipstick: I always choose one lip color to bring with me. Red for Europe, pink for down South, coral for the tropics, something earthy for the desert.

Zuzu Liquid Eyeliner

Kari Gran Cleansing Oil and Hydrating Tonic: Obviously got samples of them, but I like them enough to refill the sample sizes!

W3ll People Mascara*

Raw Elements Tinted Facial Moisturizer 30+ SPF*: This is great for tropical destinations, in lieu of the foundation.

W3ll People Bio-Correct Multi-Action Concealer*

Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Stick: My favorite deodorant, hands down. Now in a travel-sized stick!

*These items were sent to me for free by Follain, an online and IRL clean beauty store located in NYC and Boston, as part of a blogger campaign. As always, EcoCult only works with brands who we think are doing good things. Enjoy 10% off their purchase through March 31 using the code FOLLAINFRIENDS.
