These 10-minute skin-soothing facials are customized according to skin type (also performed by a local licensed esthetician) and will leave you looking positively radiant. Did you know that Picasso printed with linocuts? Christine Llewellyn of Christine Joy Design, winner of the Minted x West Elm Art Challenge will teach you linocut printmaking at the sustainable store Bhoomkie, curated by Vilasinee Bunnag. You'll get a lino block, carving tools, notebook and paper, and your own printed notebooks and paper. If you have paper goods from home you'd like to print on, please feel free to bring them (e.g. cards, notecards, booklets, wrapping paper, etc).

After touring the farm, Christy will lead you through a beautiful outdoor vinyasa flow class that will assist in bringing balance through meditation, strength & restoration of the mind and body. Following the class will be a discussion on the effect of stress on the body and ways to help reduce these stresses. Food will be a big part of this conversation! And, it will also be a big part of your enjoyment as you taste a few recipes using some of the Grange's local produce to help you fight the everyday NYC life stresses. Additionally, students will learn more about herbal blends that will assist in balancing the body and will receive a wonderful jar to take with them. (Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and a light jacket in case there’s a cool evening breeze.)

There is now a rooftop vineyard in Brooklyn, and you can taste the results! Join the Rooftop Reds team for a pig roast at Kings County Distilleries garden event space on the evening of July 22nd! Not only will Rooftop Reds be serving their first vintage ever, but Kings County Distillery will be making some of their signature whiskey cocktails. Smoak BBQ will be providing all you can eat pig sliders, while the Project Sara team of talent chefs will be creating delicious side selections.

Eco Fashion in the Park
Sun. August 2 | 1 - 6 pm @ Highbridge Park. (172st Amsterdam Ave. and go down the trail toward the bridge.)
This summer, the High Bridge connecting the Bronx and Manhattan will be rehabilitated and reopened for pedestrians and bicyclists, and as part of the vent, the quarter-mile bridge will be turned into a runway for sustainable fashion. Designers slated to present are Iliana Quander from amparo 3, Bridget Artise from Born Again Vintage, Tom Sohung, Sarah Bacchus and Martin Polanco. Bring your clothing for a clothing swap where a stylist and a tailor will be on site to help you restyle your new finds or old clothing that may need a little tweaking and beautifying. They'll have tips for donating or recycling your own clothes, and a bin for unwanted clothing and shoes to be donated. Clothing Drop Off will start at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Green Carpet from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, then the Fashion Show will be around 3:30 PM, Clothing Swap starts at 5:00 PM.

Brewing Kombucha With Summer Botanicals
August 4 | 6:30 to 8:00 pm @ Flagship Grange Farm in LIC, 37-18 Northern Boulevard, Long Island City
Kombucha tea, popular these days as a beverage rich in probiotics and more, is straightforward to brew and does not require complicated equipment or ingredients. Learn about the kombucha tea-making process from start to finish, and about adding in botanicals and ways to use the finished product. Want to learn how to make that crazy chia seed kombucha? You won’t believe how easy it is. All participants will leave with a SCOBY – Don’t know what that is? You will soon! – and the skills to easily brew kombucha tea at home. This workshop will be led by instructors from Brooklyn Mompost. Brooklyn Mompost is the skill and service of Dr. Annie Hauck-Lawson, registered dietitian, author, and master composter.
