Join sustainable fashion expert Carmen Artiga (left) and designer Francisca Pineda of BHAVA shoes, as they explore the sustainable side to one of the most exclusive shopping districts in the world. You’ll stop in a variety of ethical and sustainable stores, get tutored in how to recognize “good” fashion, get a resource list of retailers to come back and visit, and participate in a 30-minute Q&A with Carmen and Francisca. If you’re a consumer or a designer, you’ll learn a lot about the branding and marketing of ethical and sustainable wear, and come away with some new places to shop.

This has got to be the most chill and fun party by a pair of socially conscious DJs. After losing their Gowanus space last year, Justin and Eamon have moved to a new outdoor spot, Industry City, to continue the party. Sip Brooklyn-brewed beers, Limonata, sangria, Mexican coke and other libations, eat Mexican food from Country Boys while you dance to disco-house music under the setting sun. No photos or cigs or texting on the dance floor, thank God. But dogs are allowed on a leash! Part of the proceeds always go to charity.

A Bikeable Feast

Get Up and Ride has partnered with a local farm and professional chef to bring you the entire package of a Perfect Day in Brooklyn. The ride will show guests hidden urban parks and expansive waterfront sunset vistas from Williamsburg to Greenpoint, and will end at a tiny organic farm near the base of the Williamsburg bridge, where seasoned private chef Shane McGarvey will prepare a 4-course seasonal, local meal on the coal grill. Music playlists are curated by local music buffs. This urban excursion is perfectly suited for the adventures foodie who has seen enough of tired restaurants, and wants to take their evening to a new level of multi-sensorial appreciation.
