Daniel Silverstein FW14 Daniel's Silverstein's sophisticated designs, made using zero-waste design and sustainable materials whenever possible, have a strong point of view. You'll immediately recognize his well-tailored, body-conscious dresses by the macabre but subtle references to death, bones, and ghouls, expressed through his print work and ornate woven cages over ethereal, gauzy fabric. This season, he amped it up, with boxy, luxurious separates thrown into the mix. The woman who wears his pieces is not a wallflower, nor a flirt. She's direct, confident, and has a gothic side. It's hard for her to find a man who lives up to her standards and expectations, but she doesn't mind going it alone. These dresses are made for sipping cocktails, attending industry events, and scaring the sh** out of all of your enemies. If looks could kill ... This show was especially fun for me, because my boyfriend, Illich Mujica did the musical program for it! Silverstein told me a couple weeks before he was looking for a DJ. He didn't give much detail, but I passed along Illich's information. Turns out it was a match made in heaven, hell, and purgatory. You can listen to the whole thing: Check out my favorites from the show:

Custom-designed fabrics featured ghoulish sketches of souls in purgatory.

It wasn't all hell; he also sent angels down the runway as a counterpoint to his brooding, ornate designs.

Like always, he created some utterly unique designs featuring woven, braided body cages and corsets.

The slouchy pants were one of the more wearable and versatile pieces in the show.

One of my favorite pieces was the black silk faille crop top with the printed cotton twill skirt, on the left.

Daniel Silverstein Fashion Show FW14 Silverstein was looking for a DJ when I talked to him a couple weeks ago, so I hooked him up with my boyfriend, Illich Mujica. It was a perfect match. Silverstein asked for conceptual music program that could mirror the themes of heaven, hell, and purgatory that would be walking down the runway.
