The “wilderness fragrance distillery” Juniper Ridge is bringing the nature and hiking trails of the West Coast to New Yorkers (we desperately need it), with a special pop-up shop. Along with live fragrance distillations on the street using plants Juniper Ridge has foraged and flown in directly from the California mountains, the pop up shop will feature a transporter booth where people can experience Juniper Ridge hikes through film footage, real foliage, and fragrances. You’re manly fella will love it.

In this fun-filled workshop, nationally-renown textile artist Shabd will teach you the basic procedures for dyeing with Procion dyes. You will learn various tying, dying and shibori techniques, as well as basic color theory and design concepts for dying, plus design your own dye patterns. Students will focus on swatches to perfect technique and in the second class will focus on individual projects. Materials are included, and students are encouraged to bring their own garments for personal projects.
