This summer party is an instituion, and no wonder. It’s impeccably run, with amazing headliners, good food, good beer, and the chance to take in mind-bending art when you need a break from the music. This year’s PS1 featured art on the theme of ecosystems and sustainability–all the better!
Best Ethical Shopping Site: Zady
This site with men’s and women’s clothing and accessories has two founders that are nerds for supply chain management. As in, they love telling stories about the people making your purchases. It helps that all the items are beautiful!
Best Sustainable Shopping Site: Reve en Vert
Gorgeousness is the name of the game at this London-based site for eco-friendly fashion.

This made-in-NYC brand has just the right touch of romance and sass.
Best Condom: L. Condoms
The world needs more condoms. This vegan, non-toxic condom company (founded by a woman!) has a one-for-one model: when you buy one, another goes to a developing country.
Best Perfume: LURK
Hand-mixed with care in New York City, in sophisticated, bitty bottles.
Best Vegan Brand: Freedom of Animals
These sharp purses have become a favorite of celebrities.
Best Non-Toxic Mascara: Juice Beauty
This is the only clean mascara that works.
Best NYC Legislation: Bill to Tax Plastic Bags
